A Canadian translation firm located in downtown Toronto, KAN Communications (‘KAN Comm’) is owned by translators who are officially accredited by the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario for English and Japanese translation.

Each partner has more than 15 years of experience in creating various types of documents and helping international communications for different levels of government in Japan, Canada, the United States, and Europe as well as for world-class, multi-national corporations.

Areas of work have included manufacturing such as automotive and computer hardware companies, IT, finance, food and agriculture, healthcare, legal, academic, publishing, and advertising.

KAN Comm also has a large network of multi-lingual translators with expertise in various fields.

Frequently marks translator certification exams and gives correspondence courses for translation accreditation bodies.

P. Eng, PMP.

  Certified translator (English to Japanese and Japanese to English) with the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario.

18 years experience as a translator and writer.

Extensive experience as a magazine editor in the publishing field.

Instructor of Japanese<>English translation at the School of Continuing Studies of the University of Toronto from 2001 to 2003.

The author of One-minute English speeches about Japan and One-minute English about Kyoto published by Chukei Publishing Co., Tokyo.

MA from the University of Toronto (comparative literature). BA from Doshisha Women's University, Kyoto (English).

MICHIE COSOLO

A translator/writer and a specialist in translation project management.

After starting out as a piano teacher in Japan, Michie studied English in London, England and became a specialist in translation project management.

She has experience in the Finance/IT industry, as well as six years of translation project management experience with a major translation firm.

Michie has a diploma in piano teaching from the Fukuoka Women's Junior College and a diploma from the Marble Arch English School in London, England.
